Getting Started with Bankruptcy

We need the following items to start the bankruptcy process.

General Bankruptcy

  1. Two recent pay stubs;
  2. Last year’s tax return;
  3. List of creditors with approximate amounts owed;
  4. Loan documents on vehicle(s) and balance owed;
  5. Any pending litigation (including divorce, foreclosures, small claims, etc.);
  6. Current mortgage documents (including 2nd or 3rd mortgages) and balances owed;
  7. If you have refinanced your mortgage two or more times in the past three years, please bring in your loan documents that you received at the closing.
  8. If you have had a vehicle repossessed or threatened to be repossessed, please bring in all notices that you received regarding the repossession, both before and after the repossession.

Business Bankruptcy

  1. Two recent pay stubs;
  2. Last year’s tax return;
  3. List of creditors with approximate amounts owed;
  4. Loan documents on vehicle(s) and balance owed;
  5. Any pending litigation (including divorce, foreclosures, small claims, etc.);
  6. Mortgage document (including 2nd or 3rd mortgages) and balances owed.

Business Documents

  1. Profit and Loss Reports for the past six months;
  2. Business tax returns for the last two years;
  3. List of creditors with approximate amounts owed;
  4. List of business assets with approximate auction value;
  5. List of pending litigation.
