Jennifer joined Molleur Law in July of 2008. She focuses largely on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer Bankruptcy cases. She also litigates consumer and bankruptcy law violations in bankruptcy and state courts. Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer practiced in Massachusetts for several years at Neighborhood Legal Services in Lynn and Lawrence. Jennifer’s practice there focused on eviction defense for poor and disabled Massachusetts residents. Jennifer handled a variety of fair housing, discrimination and public housing cases as well as consumer protection issues in the housing context. In 2006 and 2007, Jennifer argued before the Massachusetts Supreme Court in an instrumental case known as Carter v. Lynn Housing Authority. The outcome of this case was a change in the way public housing authorities handle the termination of benefits for disabled participants.

Jennifer graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northeastern University and attended New England Law in Boston where she earned her law degree in 2002. She spent 8 years in the Maine Army National Guard as a medic where she reached the enlisted rank of Sergeant. Prior to going to law school, Jennifer worked as a housing advocate at Rosie’s Place in Boston. She later coached collegiate women’s rowing at Brandeis University and the University of Texas at Austin. Her crews in Texas raced against top crews nationally.

A Cape Elizabeth native, Jennifer has traveled extensively and worked throughout the United States. She is currently licensed to practice in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts in both state and federal jurisdictions. Jennifer has taught legal studies courses at Andover College and Kaplan University – South Portland, including Bankruptcy and Debtor-Creditor Rights. Jennifer has also taught law courses at the North Shore Community College in Danvers, Massachusetts. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the York County Community Shelter Programs, Inc. Jennifer is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, National Association of Consumer Advocates, the York and Cumberland County Bar Associations and Maine Bar Associations. Jennifer received the 2012 Katahdin Counsel Pro Bono Legal Service Award.

On January 1, 2012 Jennifer became a member of Molleur Law Office.
