The 2012 Northeast Consumer Forum was recently held on July 12th -14th at the Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, NH.  The Forum, now in its 7th year, featured speakers on a host of consumer specific topics, relevant to Chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13.

Jim Molleur, who also co-coordinated the consumer forum, facilitated a panel discussion titled “Filing your First Individual Chapter 11: Understand Issues and Confirm Creative Plans.”  This was a very timely topic as more and more individuals find themselves in need of Chapter 11 protection.  Jim continues to be an expert in this area of bankruptcy and he provides valuable advice and guidance for those in need of an individual

Jennifer Hayden also spoke on a consumer panel.  Her panel discussed “The Right to Marry versus the Right to Bankruptcy Relief.”  A very timely topic, Jen discussed specific issues that face same-sex couples as they navigate the Means Test and Determination of Disposable Income formulas.  Same-sex couples have historically been treated very differently under the bankruptcy laws than their heterosexual counterparts.

Molleur Law Office continues to stay abreast of the most cutting edge topics in consumer cases.  The firm is dedicated to this as one way to ensure the best representation of those entering the bankruptcy system.
