James Molleur co-chaired a 2 day Maine State Bar Association Bankruptcy Conference in South Portland, Maine on October 5th and 6th, 2006. The Conference was an ambitious effort to present speakers and information to bankruptcy attorneys and other professionals on bankruptcy after the passage of BAPCPA, the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005.
The revisions to the Bankruptcy Code in 2005 have presented countless problems for academics, attorneys and Judges who have attempted to interpret the law in a manner consistent with Congressional intent and common sense. The speakers at the Conference addressed these complex issues with considerable input and questions from active and engaged Conference attendees. The Conference featured Judges from Maine and New Hampshire as well as naotional known Judge Lundin and Henry Hillenbrand, a chapter 13 Trustee from Tennesee.
James Molleur hosted a panel of Judges Haines, Kornreich, and Deasy discussing the latest developments in First Circuit caselaw.
