James Molleur, Andrea Stark, and Tanya Sambatakos attended the Northeast Conference, a regional conference of the American Bankruptcy Institute, one of the country's leading bankruptcy and insolvency organizations. The conference was held in Brewster, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. The conference held 3 days of seminars and other events with lawyers, judges, trustees, and other bankruptcy and insolvency professionals participating from New England, Puerto Rico, and other jurisdictions.
The conference included a Consumer Forum, which focused on problems faced by consumer bankruptcy professionals and provided insights on current issues of significance, including mortgage servicing problems, and recent developments in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 practices. All three attendees found the conference to provide new insights and ideas for solving problems faced by consumer debtors in bankruptcy and consumer law litigation.
